An idol on stage during LIVE makes eye contact with a fan or waves her hand. Such responses from idols are called "RES".
Fans strive to get some kind of "RES" from idols by shouting their names out loud and waving at them from their seats.
When you receive eye contact for a long time or when the idol specifically waves at you, this special moment is known as a "BAKU RES" (BAKU means massive, explosive)
There is no greater happiness for a fan than getting a reaction from their favorite idol.
